Community Support We are fortunate in the Charleston Area to have local congregations who are very supportive of our campus ministries. We rely on these congregations to aid our efforts to nurture the faith of college students and to make connections between faith and real life.
Where can students find a congregation with which to get involved? Charleston has a number of PC(USA) churches that welcome students warmly. Take a look at our Directory of Churches or ask our PSALeadership Team what they think. Each person looks for different qualities in a worship experience, so visit lots of congregations to find one that is a fit for you. Groups of PSA students will be going together to visit a variety of churches during the first semester. Those churches closest to the downtown campuses include Second Presbyterian Church, First Scots Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Zion Olivet Presbyterian Church, Wallingford Presbyterian Church, James Island Presbyterian Church, Harbor View Presbyterian Church, and St. James Presbyterian Church. What can you do as a local congregation to get involved in campus ministry? There are several ways the Campus Ministry Committee can use your congregation's help and we invite you to join with us in supporting our college students!
