Vocations Unit

of

Charleston Atlantic Presbytery

The Vocations Ministry Unit is responsible for the recruitment, education, care and continuing development of ministers, commissioned workers, church educators, and church musicians. Some of the specific areas are:

Professional Development ... which includes the developing of conferences, seminars, and other continuing education opportunities for ministers, commissioned workers, church educators, and church musicians throughout the year.

Pastoral Care and Support ... which includes developing opportunities for fellowship, guidance, and the emotional, physical, and spiritual well being of ministers, commissioned workers, church educators, church musicians, and their families.

The Board of Pensions ... which includes interpreting and promoting the work of the Board of Pensions, the Office of Professional Development (and/or their successor agencies) among the ministers, commissioned workers, church educators, church musicians, and the churches of the Presbytery. The Committee seeks to inform church professionals and the churches on matters pertaining to the material support and benefits provided church workers.

There are two committees that report to Presbytery through the Vocations Unit:

The Committee on Ministry

Committee on Preparation for Ministry
