A BIT OF CHURCH HISTORY

Park Circle Presbyterian Church was organized on December 7, 1941, with thirty members meeting in Chicora Elementary School. That small group moved to its first building in April 1942 - a six room house on Cosgrove Avenue, which was remodeled to accommodate educational classrooms and a sanctuary. As the congregation grew, the church relocated to Park Circle. With the education building serving as classrooms and a sanctuary, the first services were held on Easter Sunday, 1948. The cornerstone for the present sanctuary was laid on December 7, 1958 and on September 13, 1959 the new sanctuary was dedicated to the glory of God, and worship here began. Two out-post churches were started by Park Circle Church which culminated in the organization of Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church and Fellowship Presbyterian Church.

Park Circle Presbyterian Church is a small church, beginning its 61st year of ministry. The active membership is 199, comprised of 126 families. Opportunities for worship, service, fellowship, and community outreach are available for all who join our church family.

Park Circle Presbyterian Church seeks to minister to the total needs of persons and endeavors to provide a varied program of worship, education, and service. Informal fellowships provide an opportunity for all members to get to know one another.
